Need a New Style?

I've pretty much had the same clothing and hair style since middle school and I'm in my second year of college; jeans and T-shirts. Currently over 90% of my shirts are black, and most of those are either shirts with sayings related to atitude, or cats. My hair is medium length and is either put up half way, or down when straightened. I'm just getting tired of it all and don't know what to do or try. Any suggestions?

Here's a picture and some more info of me if that helps.

Hey, I just saw your myspace. Okay, well going with your facial shape and body structure i saw from the pictures, for your hair i would get it colored. But nothing drastic! maybe two shades lighter, with some frontal high lights like a golden or honey color, depending on what you really like. It is winter so darker warm colors are whats in. Maybe just a new hair cut with some layers so it, i wouldnt go with bangs those aren't that good looking now a days. Depends on what you're into. As for style, well it depends on how trendy you feel. Not to say that in a bad way or anything, but if you like just being casual or if you like to fit in with whatever "group" you classify yourself as. Don't be afraid of change. T shirts and jeans are fine, but you know what, dont be scared to be daring. I dont know what size you are or anything, so i dont really know what web sites to give you for ideas on clothing. for me, im a thicker kind of gal, and im into the rock music scene. I used to wear t shirts and jeans all the time. You can still do that! Just maybe buy some darker jeans or some dressy looking pants or khaki pants or capris. And maybe a young looking t shirt or a vintage t shirt. Depending on femme you wanna feel! Do you wear make up at all? Doesnt really seem like it in your pics, but a nice clear or brownish tinted lip gloss goes good with your skin tone. Dare to be sexy! Heres so web sites so you can look at hair styles. Don't be scared of change.

Maybe you should grow your hair out and get layers. Maybe even dye it a different color may brown or something. You should also try pastel colors like light pinks and light greens.

look at what you are majoring and in what career you plan to go into. base some of your outfits on your profession and on stuff you would wear out with your friends and then keep in mind that you want some comfortable clothes for when you aren't doing anything at all. as for your hair you should try different styles. maybe something you see on a website or in a magazine.

But a couple plain solid color T-shirts in different colors, like red, white, green, so you can still keep your jeans. The trick of having fun with your wardrobe is acessorizing with earrings, belts, necklaces, and bracelets. You don't have to blow a lot of cash on it, either. The chunky, big necklaces are still pretty trendy, and if you're creative, you can have fun and buy your own beads and make your own! About your hair...you could try adding some small highlights to make it a little different and experiment with styles. Take some friends on a shopping trip and get their opinons on different clothes, or what you could do with your hair.

First, since you have a lot of black clothings, go shopping for brighter clothes. I suggest that you buy whatever your mood is that day. And maybe change your hair s-tyle and dye it. But you're right about one thing, your shirts need attitude. Just get with some fashion friends or just go shop by yourself, and just let go of yourself! Buy whatever you want!

P.S. But still remember your budget!

Alright..I think that you should grow your hair out more. It seems like you'd have really nice healthy hair so why not take advantage of that and grow it! And you're 19 now, try wearing some cute sweaters.

Go a little more sophisticated with things like:

Hope I helped you! Also read magazines, look for things that you think you could wear and feel comfortable in but still going a little bit out of your comfort zone. Good Luck, change is good!!!

Ok do this: Grow your hair three inches past your shoulders have it layered, parted to the side with a cute hair clip. You can straighten or curl it. I like your hair color so don't change that. for clothes: GET RID OF ALL BLACK!!! I think black is depressing. Buy some light blue, coral pink, and dark purple clothes. THOSE ARE UR COLORS! Personally i think shirts with sayings are so dumb! NO SAYINGS OR ICONS like giant hearts, stars blah blah blah. The little moose abercrombie sympbol, hollister bird, american eagle bird, polo ralph lauren horse, or any other little icon is good. Wear short skirts NOT long. Your not much of a jean person. For your make-up use a light purple eye shadow, black mascara, light pink blush, and your selection of lip gloss/stick. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

I was thinking of you getting extensions at your local beauty salon and changing your hair to a brown with blond platinum skunk stripes. Make sure you go to a really experienced and creative salon. Check around first,. Long layered loose flowing waves. Go to your local Nordstrom, Saks, or Neiman Marcus cosmetics counter and let them play with your face until they find a look good for you. Be open to trying new colors and shades. They also can recommend hair stylist and clothing stylist. Somerset Mall in Troy is my old shopping ground when I lived in Michigan. It has great stores. The stores also have wonderful personal shoppers who can help you find a new style that works for you. Their services are free. Browse through Style, Vogue, W, and Elle fashion magazines to tear out clothing photos that inspire you. Take them with you to the store. A makeover is an exciting adventure which I try to go on at least once or twice a year. Have Fun!
